![]() Once the water temperatures are matched between the aquariums, place a cup in the old tank and gently coax the fish into the cup and back out into the new tank. While this process is complicated by the need to maintain oxygen in the bag, a safer method is to use water heaters and thermometers in both the old tank and the receiving tank to match the temperature between the two tanks before you transfer the fish. ![]() In order to acclimate the fish to the water temperature of the new aquarium, the bag is floated for approximately 20 minutes in the new tank water.
